In addition to several large national-scale bookstores, INSISTPress's strongest distributors are small independent bookstores that are more easily accessed by all levels of society.

COOPERATIVE VENTURES: shared visions and mutual trust To support all aspects of this business plan, INSISTPress also continues to cooperate with other organizations and publishing houses with similar visions and missions. One of INSISTPress's long-term partners, the Hesperian Foundation, located in the United States, continues to trust INSISTPress to publish their books in Indonesia, including reprinting one of the best-selling volumes: Bila Perempuan Tidak Ada Dokter (When Women Have No Doctor). Third World Network in Penang, Malaysia, has also expressed its willingness to give INSISTPress the rights to translate and publish several of their famous anti-globalization books. Two London, England, -based publishers, the International Institute for Environment & Development (IIED) and Zed Books, have agreed to have INSISTPress translate and publish their books. We are also awaiting responses from various other publishers in North America and Europe. For distributing and marketing books, INSISTPress has also signed a cooperation agreement with LKIS Jogyakarta, as well as with other organizations including the information center at the office of the Support Office for Eastern Indonesia (SOFEI) in Makassar. We have also restructured our distribution network throughout Indonesia, including those listed below. |
